what is type of variables? How to know setup each type variables? what does document I need to find read for basic stata? Please give me some advice

I can't find a way to add a currency format. I am able to use "%#.2fc" but I can't find a way to add a $ to the front of the value. Am I missing something or is it just not possible to make a currency variable in Stata?
