Used one for a basement ceiling where it was getting a tile ceiling, but needed an outlet in the ceiling for a projector that was getting mounted. Didn't know the exact depth of the tile, and this worked great for fine tuning after the ceiling was installed.

Maybe he was getting it ready for built ins to be installed. The cabinet guys could just take off the cover plate, adjust the receptacle out and put the plate back on….. that’s all I can think of.

I actually use the metal versions on every single box love them. And yes I route the mounting plate flush with the stud.

That’s definitely interesting. Those plastic refit boxes with the wings are all you usually need.

During a recent remodel, plans were changed. Knotty, pine tongue, and groove was added to a wall. If I had used these boxes, it would've gone a lot smoother.

one of my rough crews started using something similar to these and they've been working wonderfully for kitchen backsplash. now instead of having to monkey the device on the finish, you can install it like any other device that's flush with the wall. Good for the future when homeowners install their own smart devices and aren't skilled enough to not crack the backsplash installing it in a sunk-in box

Some dude literally used sharpie on drywall. Painters must love him

Great for residential retrofit in old houses where the old studs and drywall are not current industry standard.

I think it would be better suited for new construction before the drywall goes up

I use them for kitchen countertops, behind cabinets and exterior for stucco finishes.

Good for rough in when box too deep after drywall or whatever reasons.

Hi Team, Please what is the name of the machine you use to make holes in the wall ??

What I have done is use a pick to scrape between the wall board and the stud so I cloud slip the bracket in, then pre drill a hole through the wallboard and bracket to run and set a drywall screw so you aren’t creating a drywall finish job

Kitchen counter outlets... what if in the future you want tile veneer, changing the thickness of the wall

Yeah here in kentucky we have used them. we'll certain counties we had to use an adjustable range box for awhile. Pain in the ass! I guess it's more for tile and other expensive interior designs!

This is great if they have tile or paneling or a shit taper and painter made 17 layers of tape and paint, on top of the drywall or you don’t have prints and unsure of rock thickness and/or said paneling, tile, etc. so, when you come back to install devices and see your box now 1/4” back from flush with said surfaces.

This could turn out to be more handy than we think!
