From the original Fame film & all through the TV series plus the concerts, the Fame franchise (?) never failed to address hard-hitting topics. Yes, the background was the performing arts, but the individual characters & the stories were unique. That absolutely awesome finale to the film captured everything the arts is about - energy, individuality, passion & so much more, it still makes me cry. The series gave us individual storylines that we could relate to & characters we loved. Storylines covered major illnesses, strikes, drugs, disability, mental health, alcohol abuse & adoption along with many others. I really believe the film & complete series' of Fame should be aired again.

Everything about this song speaks of my childhood 😢 a poor skinny kid from the suburbs always trying his best to be number one at everything, but always been overlooked by everyone.
