It is surprising that the fighters remained at their posts (with the exception of some infantrymen), did not leave their battle formations and opened fire from everything possible. I think the US soldiers did not know how cruel their alien enemy was, held out to the bitter end and died a heroic death. Thank you for uploading this fragment of the film, from which I found such moments on YouTube only in poor quality.

Although this 2008 movie has long been forgotten - arguably because of the swamp of mostly-poor movie-making in this "apocalyptic" genre since - this scene is one of the best ever. It is total and utter human dread. There is no hope. A true apocalypse.
