I thought 20 wins gets you a lifetime exemption on tour? He’s got that 4 times over

The Tiger exemption for signature events is an excellent decision. These high profile events can only benefit from Tiger occasionally being present, and not having to face a 36-hole cut means more opportunities for him to get involved in competitive rounds among the best players.
I can’t see any negative side to it.

Am I really seeing comments that saying that Tiger needs to "earn it"? The man has 82 wins. The next closest that is still out there competing is Phil with 45. Give me a break. He's earned it.

Having another signature event this week immediately after a major is crazy.

It just shows that no one is watching regular events. Sponsors are desperate.

Favouritism and hypocrisy from the PGAT, not surprised one bit. No doubt he'll get invites to all of the majors next year as well even if he doesn't play regular PGAT events.

Long story short:
Tiger does whatever he wants. Which I actually don’t disagree with. This could be the smartest move out of Ponte vedra in decades.

Theyll always find a way to let tiger play...the amount of money he brings in makes it worth jt for the sponsors

Give him a chance to compete 😂. Compete to not finish DFL every week?

Kind of ridiculous. It is solely a money grab for the sponsors to have Tiger playing their event. He has zero chance of contending given he can’t do what he used to because of injuries. Does anyone even think he gets through Q school? I don’t think he can. Hogan played a reduced schedule and had numerous cortisone injections in his knee just to be able to compete but Tiger’s body is far worse.

Should get him as a golf sports announcer. The guy who comments about the course and such

I wonder how the 72nd player on the list feels about that.

takes away the competitive nature of the PGA

This is a crock. There should not be any special treatment for any player. Earn it or get an exemption directly from a sponsor. I think Tiger might decline this because he knows its bullshit.

He can’t play them anyway! He might play the Memorial, but other than that, it is largely ceremonial at this point.

Funny how the LIV boys have been denied access to the PGA tour; but Tiger who struggles to make cuts is granted a never before special exemption to play in PGA events he can’t qualify for in the normal way. They should just create the Tiger Woods exhibition tour; oh wait a minute that’s what the PGA Tour has become. More Thursdays and Fridays of having every shot of a man televised who has no chance of winning. If it wasn’t for bad decisions the PGA would be making none. Respectfully

Has there ever been a Commissioner of any major sports league as unlikable as Jay Monahan?

Tiger is washed up. Only Bryson, The Peoples Champ can save the tour now.

Ridiculous, I thought you had to EARN IT on the PGAT, not get special privilege to take another player who has EARN IT.
Another reason why not to ever go back to supporting or watching.

Anybody else getting Tiger Fatigued watching endless coverage of missing cuts, round recaps, and extra commercials centered around him, featuring him etc. Of course Tiger gets paid on the back end via PIP money, so don’t tell me it’s about honoring the best Asian golfer that’s ever played.
