0:35 I imagine those houses, built practically directly on the beach (which most probably in other countries would not have given permission to do that, but evidently in America rich and famous people are allowed to do everything), what would have happened with a Tsunami.

Very sorry about the fire and devastation but unrelated, why do they allow building right on top of the beach, literally feet from the high tide mark? Crazy!

I grew up in So Cal. I ate at the Reel Inn and would drive through Malibu when I visited the Getty Museum of Art. I always thought those homes would be wiped out by a flood, mudslides, or a tidal wave. I never thought they could be burnt to the ground. After watching this video I'm reminded how to close to the hills these houses are. With the drought, I see how these hills would be covered in dry shrubbery. More than 20 years ago, my friend's house up in the hills there burnt to the ground. It's was an authentic early 1900s craftsman style house filled with Stickley furniture. The last few days I've been reading about how scientists have warned against building homes in the Palisades area. A fire like this was bound to happen. It wasn't a matter of "if" but "when." Still, greedy developers and corrupt government officials didn't care. There was too much money to be made. Most homeowners were unaware of the dangers. They are now... sadly.
