at 4:51 why assume we have a $200 plugin? great up till that point?

something happens with the mask when you click on that panel that won't happen without it. frustrating.

Where do I apply the camera raw thing after masking? I'm confused.

Great tutorial, like always! What I don't understand is when you actually change back from LAB to RGB and how to move the selection. I tried it pressing shift, but it did not work. What keys do you press exactly and where do you put the pointer?

Missing steps for those who don't have the workflow X panel. What we need to do at "apply LUT button" step in CR?

4:34 - Got lost a little bit at this point. When I drag and drop the selected items in the Lab document to the RGB document, I end up with two layers (Background and Layer 1) in the RGB document. Also I'm finding it difficult to follow the next few steps. Which of the two layers do I convert into a Smart Object? Also I seem to be lacking the Camera Raw filter. Also what is the ?? control panel? My Photoshop is an old version, it came with CS5.5.

Thanks. One question, i'm missing the step on 4.51, when you go to smart filter and mask, than the raw filter. After that, you go to apply lut. But you merge the layers before that? After that step, i can open the raw filter, but i keep the smart object + mask, under that the raw mask + filter, where the mask show white only.

I have 1969 35 mm ektrocrome faded color magenta looking slides that were underexposed. They were made into digital drive and DVD slide plus 4 by 6 pics. But the pics are mostly too dark and digital is better. Is there a way to return what is missing in dark shadows with your new techniques and photoshop?

I was following the video carefully and ended up applying the Camera Raw effect on the ligthness layer, returning to the rgb mode, copyng the image to an other file with the orignal image and plying tih the opacity slider on the modified image on top to get the desired result. Didn't get perfect results and I will try to improve the technique.

Filter gallery is grayed out. What's the other way to completely remove noise?

Couldn't drag the selection to the other panel. Just started creating a selection. Held down Shift.

I used this on a lineart file I colorized to remove some original file resolution grain, and the color came out so smooth! I'm printing it as a poster, so the smooth color transitioning was important. I'm so glad this technique worked on this, I would have hated to have to retrace all that lineart!

thanks so much for this amazing tutorial! Q: when I apply the Camera raw filter, my image remains unchanged? Am I missing something?
