For writing todo lists, i find using the Gherkin method for writing user stories as your tasks (then creating technical subtasks for those) breaks things up nicely and consistently and always keeps your focus on how the software is meant to be used

Accidentally trained my dog in the pomodoro technique. She thinks we play fetch for 10 minutes after I work for 50 minutes. She’s a good task master.

when i see a very general task i try tro crumble it in as many little tasks as possible. Sometimes i do like 4 at the same time without noticing and i prefer to it like that cuz feels good when i check 4 tasks at the same time
