Also should be mentioned, if you add more features than requested from your boss or client, they might not like the additional stuff you added and be asked to remove it!

I completely agree with huge issues arising when you either over optimize or over engineer your code. Over engineering code reminds me of the parody colloquialism “I use bigs words to sound more photosynthesis”. The smartest thing to do is put things in simple, efficient terms.
If a programmer is smart enough to avoid using ternary operations and complex-looking lambda expressions then they’re definitely smarter. They know of the more complex syntax, they just happen to be intelligent enough to simplify the code for readability.
