Ustad Zakir Hussain is an Indian tabla player and a music director born on March 9, 1951 in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. He is the son of Alla Rakha, a legendary tabla player. He is married to Antonia Minnecola and has one daughter. He has been awarded with the Padma Bhushan in 2002 and Padma Shri in 1988 including several other awards.
