To all the people getting annoyed at the woman... If the goal is to understand native speakers, it's no use listening to very clear, slowly spoken Spanish all the time because nobody talks like that in real life. People slur and mumble at speed in real life, you have to get used to it. It's exactly the same in your native language, it's just you're so advanced you don't even notice it.

Trust me, it gets MUCH worse than this when you throw in heavy accents, slang and obscure cultural references too!

In my opinion, this is exactly what I needed. Very nice material for advanced level. A native speaker who has a difficult accent and speaks fast, and a common conversation material with a lot of infromation to digest. Because, this is exactly what I struggle with in real life.

At one point, she spoke 35 words in 13.22 sec or 2.65 words per second or 159 words per minute. I've measured the speed people talk on the news as well as on telenovelas. The takeaway is that 159 words per minute is really somewhat slow as I've measured news reporters talking noticeably faster at 180 words per minute and while my methods are not very scientific, it would seem like people on telenovelas often will speak faster than the news reporters, often easily breaking 200 words per minute. The conclusion is that this woman speaks within the range that would be acceptable for a speech in English, with falls between 140-160 words per minute. This speed ensures that you aren't talking too slow or too fast for your audience. Accent seems to vary considerably with respect to the region. While I've personally experienced people who articulate better than this woman, I wouldn't consider it very common in my experience(Note: my experience is just having spoken with many natives. I also have now been living in Mexico for a little over a month). One phenomenon that I've noticed is that people seem to change how they talk to me versus how they would talk to another native. Often I can understand someone when they talk to me but what they say is indistinguishable when they talk to another native. I would also like to mention that I've experienced talking to several people who I would say are far more difficult to understand than this woman.

03:16 - El hombre dice, "yo espero que las ventas de este año mostrarán un aumento sobre las del año pasado. "

me parece que hay un error: creo que la frase correcta es, "Yo espero que las ventas de este año muestren un aumento sobre las del año pasado."

I liked it. I have been living in Latin America for quite some time and I can fully understand Latin American Spanish, however, when I listen to Spanish spoken be Spaniards I may not get everything since the Spanish accent is different, so is their vocabulary and... the Spanish people speak so fast!

Great video, thank you! Can you chill a bit with the ads though, por favor? They literally pop up in the middle of lessons, making me all discombobulated. Thank you again.
