Показать описание
Piper is a nonspeaking child with two rare genetic conditions. She has learned to communicate by humming songs that are relevant to her mood. For example, when Piper is joyful she hums, "If You're Happy and You Know It". Piper's family wants others to know that her form of communication is valid.

Just when the world seems to be slipping into madness and despair, I see two parents who are this wonderful and devoted. I needed something to make me smile today. Thanks.

connecting music BPM to heart BPM to calm her is an EXTRAORDINARY idea. this shows the absolute love and connection that parents and guardians can have with children. understanding a child goes far beyond what we THINK is human interaction

As a former music therapist, this video is very powerful. Thank you for showing the power of music to connect with people.

A six-year-old girl teaching us “Yes I do get mad when she pulls my hair, but I think about the happy things. You have to have bad days for the good days.” This episode has blessed me beyond anything I thought YouTube could possibly do for me today. I love these people and I pray huge blessings on them as they care for their children and hopefully many more foster children to come.

She's definitely born with a natural talent for music. She not only perfectly keeps in time with the beat, but she also vocally changes keys along with the guitar. I'm glad her parents recognized this talent early and are using it in meaningful ways to connect with Piper.

Her name, Piper, is totally fitting for someone who is musically inclined. Lol 😊

The way she stared into the guitar as he played was an amazing moment. No words spoken, just vibes.

"we have to have bad days so we can have good days" wow! Milliana floored me with that statement. How does a 6 year old become this emotionally mature?

Thank you Chris for sharing a glimpse of our family with the people on your channel, and for the time and energy you put into each video. We found encouragement early on in Piper's diagnosis by watching your interviews, and being on the opposite side of things was a great opportunity. You are a talented guitar player, and Piper enjoyed her time with to you! You were kind, patient, and flexible. Which is just what most people need.

Thank you to our friends, family, teachers, church, and medical team who have played roles in our daily lives. For supporting and encouraging us on our worst days.

Thank you to the online community who has commented or engaged with the video. Your kind words, prayers, and advice have been well received and shared along to our children. Time is a valuable thing that you can't get back, and it was a blessing to share our story with you all. We pray it encourages you on hard days, in hard places.

Thank you to our Lord Jesus for giving us a hope and a future. The Lord has been our firm foundation through the storms. We wouldn't be able to do an ounce of what we do without Him leading and guiding us every step of the way.

I can’t express enough how blown away I am with Miliana. The patience and compassion she has at her age I almost can’t wrap my head around. What a special person she is and she’s really made my day. Wow. That’s some amazing parenting too.

Can I just praise this guy for his incredible ability to connect with such a wide range of people?? It's so clear that there's no judgment on his part, and why so many people feel so comfortable with him. I love this channel and how each guest is treated with kindness <3

To watch this child connect with you was amazing i saw it several times in this video. You can just see it in her eyes, lights up her face. You are a remarkable young man. Just when i start to lose my faith in humanity, I see one of your videos and am reminded that there are still good people out there. thank you for how much you do for others, thank you for your ability to really connect with others, and thank you so much for just being you

I bet that little girl would do really well with some instruments. The Happiness I see in her eyes is what this world needs. Pure joy.

Once I understood Pipers music connection I understood how connected and intelligent she is. “Never judge a book by its cover.”
Millania is a wonderful, helpful sister. Good job Mom and Dad!!

As a teacher of First Grade for 12 years, and Second Grade for 3 (and as a parent), I can say this: Not a lot of children understand a beat, nor can they keep it! This is super impressive! What an interesting mind!
