Probability and Likelihood. (Differences)

Probability and Likelihood in statistics and math world can be mixed very often. In real life situations most of us (I guess) do not see differences in such mathematics domains. Me too, until I analyzed couples of examples I based this explanatory video on for you.

So:
0:27 #Probability: Area under the curve given by selected criteria with defined distribution of samples having constant mean and standard deviation

3:05 #Likelihood: Y-axis values for fixed data points with distributions that can be moved.

In this video I use the case with randomly selected human heights as an statistical example.

Statistics is easy and fun - enjoy learning!

Hi all! Thank you for checking this video. Hoping this material reminds you some foundations on stats. Here I recommend to check other similar ones:

Sorry but I have to point out that this is a rehash of statquest's explanation. Almost exactly the same script with values changed

Hi, I'm wondering how you got the probabilities (areas under the curve) when x is between 1.8 and 1.9 m and when x is greater than 1.9? When I used an online calculator, it showed that the probability for the first is 39.4% and 10.6% for the second.

Also, can you share the formula for the exact value of the likelihood that you showed?

Thanks!

as I know Likelihood its mean How well the sample supported the parameter
The higher the likelihood the higher support
but what is it mean equal to the Probability(sample|parameter)
what is it telling us?

So where do the y-axis values come from?

In the likelihood diagram, it is mentioned as "Human Weight" instead of "Human Height". Please correct it. Thanks !!

Every teacher on youtube tells the same shit. Thumbs down.

What does the value 0.18 even mean in real life, I mean how do we interpret that. I don't understand why people just don't teach that. Instead everyone posts these stupid equations.

Very bad video

This sure looks like a knock-off of the video by YouTuber, "StatQuest."
