The History of U.S. Intelligence Leaks

Показать описание
Depending on who's doing the talking, those who have given away intelligence about the military and security infrastructure of the United States have been called spies, heroes, and traitors.
But knowing the historical contexts around such leaks can help us understand why the leakers did what they did, and whether or not it was worth it.

Can't believe you excluded the kid who leaked documents to his gamer buddies so they would like him

It's still funny to me how people were more mad at Snowden than the government 💀

Snowden wasn’t a spy or a traitor. He showed the American People what we needed to see.

Ellsberg died recently. That's probably why they talk about him as if he still lives.

@4:52 - There is an excellent film called Breach (2007) based on the story of Robert Hanssen.
He is played by Chris Cooper, a Mizzou alumni who received an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor in 2003 while I was at Mizzou (for graduate school).

Eating ANOTHER Weird History meal!
This time eating pizza (that I made with my mother) from the Chef Boyardee Pizza Maker kit while watching this Weird History video!
It was on the Weird History Food video "Who Was the real Chef Boyardee?"

The funnies part about the Rosenbergs is that people, who tried to prove they were victims of McCarthyism only managed to prove they really were guilty :D

Did I miss John Walker? He disclosed our submarine program to the soviets. So much info that the soviets became on par with the US Navy and the newest Soviet subs were called by the US the "Walker Class" as it wouldn't have existed without him.

So they all were charged with the espionage act? That means they all have one thing in common. If they were president of the U.S.? They would of been fine.🤔😏

Edward Snowden should be considered a god damn hero.

The man wasn't an idiot. He knew damn well the risks of what he was doing, but he did it anyway out of loyalty to the American _people_ .
