One-Health Action to Preserve Antibiotics
Показать описание
Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR), as we all know, is a global public health threat. The misuse of antibiotics such as in human-health, food-animal production and crops is known to contribute to rising AMR. Environment also acts as a reservoir of AMR and poor management of waste adds to the problem. Consequently, antibiotics are becoming ineffective, leading to health and economic crises. There is a pressing need to preserve antibiotics and this can best be done through a concerted One-Health action across the world.
While the efforts of the global and country-level stakeholders have attained some progress over the last few years, there clearly are gaps and challenges that need to be addressed for a timely and effective solution. This webinar aims to deliberate upon and create awareness among stakeholders and the general public on progress, challenges and solutions regarding different aspects of of AMR. These include global developments, National AMR Action Plan implementation, and those related to food-animal production, crops and environment sectors.
