Lyrics:
Heading for the door
Stop heading for the door
Stop heading for the car you gave me
I can’t apologise
I can’t apologise you ain’t there

I’m in it for the night
I’m in it for the night we had here
You know it don’t feel right

If ever there’s a time
If ever there’s a time that ain’t fair
I can’t afford a lie
I can’t afford to lay the night down
You’re way too drunk to drive
You’re way too drunk just stay here
You know it’s just a fight

I know you wanna ride

If you’re never getting out of this mood
Forget you
If you’re drinking all your old man’s booze
He’ll get you
Forget you

Stop looking for a knife
Stop looking through the drawer it ain’t there
I can’t afford a lie
I can’t afford to lay the night down
You’re way too drunk to drive
You’re way too drunk to drive just stay there
You know it’s just a fight

Stop heading for the door
Stop heading for the car you gave me
I can’t apologise
I can’t apologise you ain’t there

I’m in it for the night
I’m in it for the night we had here
You know it don’t feel right

I know you wanna ride
I know you won the right

Here from the cover of Linger and I am already a huge fan. I have such a deep emotional connection to type music and Royel Otis hits that nail right on the head. From everything I am hearing you guys will definitely be added to my daily playlist. ❤️

You know when the older generations say "they don't make music like this anymore". They just haven't discovered this or any other indie music yet.

This song is special. It’s new but feels nostalgic. Reminds me of the indie music that was around 10-15 years ago, in a good way

Royel Otis deserves the album of the year 2024.

That feeling when you think it's time to sing, but it's not the right time to sing and you gotta wait 5 more seconds for the vocals: 1:45

My family & I saw these guys at Shaky Knees Festival in Atlanta this past weekend. I was personally there for other bands. My son wanted me to check them out, I had never heard them. I was captivated by their sound immediately. Definitely the best surprise and one of my favorite performances of the whole weekend. glad I saw them and now have a new band to follow.

New anthem, parking farther away so I can listen in earbuds as I walk into work. Want to skip/walk but I'll just walk cool like him. I'll save the dancing for later alone in my room.

They opened with this song in Madison WI last Saturday night. I had never heard anything from this band until recently. A great find.

I miss the early ‘00s rock music and this is taking me back in some way. Thank you.
