I was thinking of doing this for IOT, but in my environment that evolves four sites, each with a core router in a ring topology ...most likely, for a remote campus router to reach the vrf at the main site, it will have to be via a vlan span this router hangs off the firewall. I need to confirm if it's the best practice.

Are you using Panorama to manage the firewalls? We just stood up a Panarama vm and imported our FWs, created templates, etc...

Are your four core switches not a stack? Wouldn't stacking the four switches be even easier to manage by reducing all four switches to a single management plane rather than have two cores handling layer 3 and two handling layer 2?

What is the purpose of the VRFs if they can talk to each other? You can just remove them and control the traffic with ACLs
