Sorted - thanks! Still a really helpful run-through, five years after posting - and thanks for your clear, relaxed style, Jimmy - greetings from Berlin!

JIMMY FOR PRESIDENT 🎉
Thanks Jimmy, very helpful, as always. I was so frustrated that i was about to sell off my beloved X-T1 in As-Is condition just for this error.
I m not selling anymore :)

I'll save everyone 6 minutes: THIS VIDEO JUST TELLS YOU TO FORMAT THE CARD.

Why waste 6 minutes of our time giving us 5 seconds of information?

Hi Jimmy, your video really helped me, especially by clearly walking through from 2:45 because it confirmed that you were having the same problem as me (even on my different Fuji). I have no idea what it meant to "just format the card", so the walkthru was great. Idk why some ppl are being rude/impatient in the comments. I think your vlogging style is fun and welcoming, which is what I like about YouTube! Now that my memory card is okay, I can start filming my time lapse project. :D Thanks, have a nice day with your dogs.

I have encountered once. This also happens if you change the picture orientation on the computer. The ones that you changed will display as "error" and others will still be fine to review on camera. I think it only happens to the pictures that you modified on the computer.

Great video. i have an old fuji finepix s8400 with a card error message. i followed all the tips in this video but nothing worked. Do you know of anything specific that I need to do for this model camera. Been searching the internet for days cant find anything helpful. I did buy a new card and it still gives me the error message.

Good explanation., so I did this with a Fuji X-M1. When I clicked for a shot there's no click. When I then did the reformatting, this didn't change the error message. What next?

I had the same error, and basically all the images I took after i had the card error thing are corrupt. Is there a way to recover those images? Thanks!

I need your help lol...I was so pissed off... I'm trying to shoot a 4k video sunset in 4k on my xt3 like I always do with my sony a7rii....23.9 FPS all intra I've got 500 GB worth of SD cards 15 minutes into the film i get a pop up screen saying "storing"... then it says "write error"... first of all I never told it to store after 15 minutes, I was intending it to go to the full 30 minutes, and second of all I don't know what the hell the "write error" was ...two brand new Lexar Professional 1667x 256GB SDXC UHS-II/U3 V60 Memory Cards ...brand new Fuji xt3 I miss a setting or something? . I was in movie mode I was in aperture priority and it just stops 15 minutes in to store.... very frustrating

I was looking for a solution that doesn't involve loosing all the pictures on the card. I already know how to format a sd card in camera.

Thanks for the video....I was worried about that.  It happened to me too on my XT-1.  I now am in the habit of downloading my card files to my computer without making any adjustments/changes, then safely removing the card and putting the card back into my camera.  I then work with the files which are now on my computer.
