I Want to Talk about Freedom at Midnight when All we Imagine is Light.

You know what I just realised. Prabha literally translates to "light"!! AWIAL is a movie that keeps giving! Great discussion btw and lovely to see such different readings of the same source material.

The trailer of All we imagine as light looked beautiful and was waiting to watch it in theaters. They will play Bade Miyan Chhote Miyan but not this one! So unfortunate.

All That We Imagine As Light moved me in a way that was totally different from how other emotional films or books have moved me. It had a visual poetry that was like a slow release tablet that shifted how my heart beats. It was like being lifted gently and put down in a new place where there was some sadness but the tears were also healing. And that place to where I was moved was not transitory. Absolutely brilliant to be able to give a viewer this experience.

I went to watch a 7:15 evening show of all we imagine as light in delhi on friday and it was fully packed. It felt so good and I can't describe how happy I was!!!

Personally I think All We Imagine as Light is the best Indian film since The Lunchbox, I am that moved by this spectacular film! Wonderful discussion about the film especially!

I wonder how much our perception of any film is shaped by its performance at festivals like Cannes, TIFF, Sundance, etc. If it were released without any festival runs or festival awards, would people still be so gung ho about it?

Movie reviewers watched a movie 3 times that's means the movie would be great.

Loved this shot of blue saree drying and moving in the wind…almost like the waves that mark the beginning of second half…

Cool sequel/follow-up to the LTM sessions on FC! Used to binge them once.
Major difference being yahaan pe koi conflict of interest hone ka scope nahin. Unless one of these three/their relatives go on to become a producer or something.

I watched All We Imagine As Light at the Vancouver International Film Festival (VIFF) to a packed screening. And then went back to the VIFF theatre last week to watch it again. It was such a moving experience. For me, the film was about the city and how citizens and migrants interact with the city. How ephemeral that relationship is. Even if one has lived in a city for years, one still can be reduced to an outsider in the blink of an eye. And what a coincidence with Ishita, I saw Mahanagar (The Big City) the same week at a special VIFF screening. To watch Mahanagar and All We Imagine As Light in quick succession was enlightening.

The film is well made but DEMONIZING muslims and jinnah to the extent it looks unreal and propaganda film, perfectly inappropriate and inaccurate..
