i've always loved both Sally Field and Paul Newman, but today i watched Absence of Malice for the first time in many years. And found out that during the filming of the scene where he is furious and grabs and pushes her and throws her to the ground, he really did hurt her in real life. She had scrapes and kindof whiplash injury but didn't let on and finished the filming anyway.
It's awful that both the director and Paul Newman did not protect and look out for her better than that.

Great movie, Sally Field is a great actress, Jane Pauley is a terrible interviewer, always was. She spends half the clip describing to Fields a scene that she was in, she probably knows what she did without Pauley having to describer the entire thing to her.
