Frustrated business owners consider suing City of Oakland

Frustrated business owners in the City of Oakland say they're ready to take the city to court. They say more needs to be done about break ins that are affecting their bottom line.

On an early Sunday morning in East Oakland i went to take my 6 year old to the park & we got caught in a shootout, my child could've been killed but i protected him from the bullets as the shooter shot two guys running towards us but he wasn't done, one guy ran away the other fell on the ground and the shooter walked casually over to him and put a few more in him then got in his SUV an drove off. I did not realize my son witnessed the whole thing until i heard him crying !! At the end of the school year i received all of his homework & book reports. One book report was Titled "THE DAY I HAD TO BE BRAVE" as i looked at it my heart fell to pieces and i starting crying, it was an Exact crayon drawing of that day of the shooting (THE DAY HE HAD TO BE BRAVE) I couldn't tell his mom what happened because i had custody of him and his mother would've threatened to take him away. So now I have PTSD from that and i'm always looking over our shoulders. We pray and ask God please help the town of Oakland. Be safe my fellow friends.

That restaurant owner of Lucky Seven in the Fruitvale neighborhood was shot and killed last year. The owner of Upton Agave should quit now and save himself. His family doesn't need to be crying over his casket.

Whole California is a sanctuary state. These lawsuits and other efforts will likely have no effect on crime situation. In progressive thinking complaining about crime is considered equivalent to asking for a carceral state.

I think about the families trying to raise their families on the income from their businesses, and how these crimes must impact the families' finances and sense of stability, especially for their children. The city has made a choice to prioritize the well-being of the criminals over these victimized families.

I've seen the same homeless under the same bridge (14th and 580) for over ten years. While Gallo professes his concern youth have been subjected to homeless filth and drug use all their lives and are now acting out all over our country
