🔴 Laser is used to create tiny burns around the retinal tears.
🔴 The laser emits a beam of light that travels through the eye and burns the area around the retinal tear or detachment to create a scar.
🔴 The healing that occurs after the laser burns essentially spot-welds the retina down and prevents the tear from causing a retinal detachment.
🔴 If not treated, fluid can leak through these tears and cause the retina to detach, leading to vision loss.

Just had this done 2 days ago on right eye to stop detachment. Left eye had surgery to reattach retina. Lasered eye was just slightly scratchy. Surgery eye is painful.
