No, cuz we’re being honest, Americans are almost *too* obsessed with extracurriculars.

It’s to the point where universities will actually give a shit about the extracurriculars (excluding volunteer or “major-matching” activities), you took, which as an American, I find extremely odd.

Or that whole high school movie trope, the jock can’t play in the staring game until they bump up their grade. The fact that this is an *actual trope* is bizarre because it happens IRL. A lot of athletes do care about their grades and learning, but many really wouldn’t give it shit until it started to impact their athletic career.

I went on a student exchange to the US and I made honer roll without even trying, classes were just so easy next to the education system in Belgium

What state did you live in? as a American I think that it depends on what state you live in. The thing I hate with school is that they do the same thing year after year.

my school hours living in america: 08:00 to 16:10
but my bus always comes late so i don’t get home until 17:30. but american schools suck. at my school, the teachers don’t teach, they just give us work. we don’t read anything to learn we just try and figure it out. it’s stupid. not to mention, the food. my school gives us 5 chicken nuggets and calls it a meal, mind you, this is middle school. we are growing teens with hormones and we need food. not 5 chicken nuggets.
