I've been loving the vibe of the album and I actually learned Lux AEterna for my guitar masterclass at college back in December, both songs absolutely slap and I'm definitely looking forward to hearing more

Loving the classic Thrash / Speed Metal style so far. Plus, the production is reminiscent of the Ride The Lightning album but more refined. Can't wait to hear to hear the rest of the album.

The 4 decades old argument of "Met vs Meg" is still alive I see.

Choose your adventure*:
- It won't suck
- It marks a return to their classical sound
* Fantasy themed

All I know is it’s going to be a fucking banger. Screaming Suicide is dope and Lux Æterna feels like a “coming out of pandemic song” even though it’s about a concert.

To me it sounds like this album is influenced by their old influences like Diamond Head, Judas Priest, Motörhead and all these NWOBHM bands. It also sounds like the type of songs you'll hear on Kill 'Em All but slower (which reminds more of the NWOBHM sound)

Lars didn't say it would be the best and heaviest album.
This is not the correct interpretation of his words from that interview.
He said such words, but in a different context.

Let's hope Kirk Hammett is now involved in the songwriting... he didn't have songwriting credit on the last album

The girl read the script very well. It's great how she showed no emotion .

P.s. she didnt know metallica was a band until she got the script

better be mainly metal tracks, 1 awesome stadium rock anthem, maybe a ballad, no drawn out blues rock slow burns. just, main back to roots thrash, with modern sound.

Honestly, after hearing the first three singles, I am excited for the album, I don’t think the second single Screaming Suicid3 is a great song but I really like the first one and the third one. I’m not saying that I think this album is going to be as great as Master of Puppets, it’s just not. But that doesn’t mean I don’t think it’s still going to be good. Look any artist I don’t care what genre, whether it’s metal or rap or whatever even the biggest artist have a prime part of their career where that’s looked at as their “classic” era and it’s just silly to think that Eminem is going to make another album that has the impact and it’s just as good as the Marshall Mathers LP or the Eminem show. Or that Metallica is going to make another album like any of their first five albums.

Same thing happened to Ozzy Osbourne, same thing happened to Slayer. I wouldn’t call Annie of slayers music bad necessarily, but show me the album pass the mid 90s that slayer put out that all of the fans call a classic album inconsiderate one of their best? With Ozzy Osbourne his classic arrow was everything from the blizzard of Ozz to Ozzmosis . I heard the singles for the albums after Ozzmosis and they were good songs, but they just weren’t going to be anything as special as what came before.

With Metallica the first five albums are really classic Metallica . I’m not saying they haven’t made good albums sense I think Death Magnetic is a great album. It’s the best Metallica album after the first five, and I think the song Fuel has managed to age very well it’s still a song that they play live but they’re just not going to put out an album that shakes up the metal community and is going to sell 6 million copies again. Metallica knows that. That’s why if you look at the set list since 2008 it is pretty much songs from the first five albums, Fuel and what ever album they’re touring for. When Hardwired to self Destruct came out. It was pretty much songs from the first five albums, Fuel in three or four songs from the Hardwired album that you got when they on tour to support the album . I think the same thing is going to be true for when they go on tour for 72 seasons. Probably aren’t going to hear anything from Load, St. Anger or Hardwired.

And there’s nothing wrong with that. That’s what every artist does. Play your classic stuff that everyone loves, and then play the songs that are supporting the album you’re touring for. But if you notice that other than the album you’re touring for if you have four or five albums That you’re just not playing anything off of you know which ones your classic saw her and which ones aren’t.

And I get why Metallica has said multiple times in different interviews “we don’t think we’ve made our best record yet “ I get it. They kind of have to tell them selves this. Because if they just went into it with the mindset that they’re never going to make an album like Puppets, The Black Album, Justice or Lightning ever again then they probably aren’t going to have that drive they need to have. I just think at some point after you’ve been in the business for 15 or 20 years, you’ve written your best songs. Even the most creative artist hit a point to where OK they’ve pretty much drain themselves. It’s not to say that they still can’t make good or even great art, but it’s not going to be the best of the best cause the best of the best has already came and gone but I am excited for this album. If it’s as good as Death Magnetic then it’s going to be an album that I can have a lot of fun with and listen to multiple times.

Come on guys, get Lauryn's lipsync sorted! I don't expect schoolboy errors on Loudwire.

This'll be probably the last Metallica album. They can retire and no one would be mad. Unlike the Ozzy fan girls who want him dead on stage, retirement isn't a solution
