I wonder why Ranni was an Empyrean. She's a child of Rennala, not Marika. Like her two brothers she only ascended to demigod status after their dad rejoined with the Queen

As the new god, bodiless and fully departed from her old world, The Lands Between cannot be interfered with easily by outer gods.

A lot of these outer gods attached themselves to Marika's offspring/offshoots, thus enabling a constant scramble for power. A fight to reach the Erdtree and usurp the old order.

Now, with the tree burned and transformed into a portal to the uknown, with the new god abandoning it for the sake of a new cycle, the world would be that of men, and not gods.
