Jee student :-

As we need that ammeter should have very low resistance for it to read precise value.
We connect a resistance parallel to galvanometer

As in parallel combination the net resistance is less than than of minimum resistor used in parallel combination


Eg:- R= 1 ohm
R'= 2 ohm

Connect them in parallel. You get net resistance R(net)=2/3ohm
And (2/3<1)



Neet students:- large spelling large resistance
Small spelling small resistance
