My experience is that they all are always late. Unless you are late yourself, then they are magically on time and you miss them.

Liam has become such an authentic German individual, he started to experience inverse culture shock. Damn.

in Italy, sometimes the railway companies apologize for arriving on time

When the train comes on time and this makes you question if it's really your train or just the previous one.

Ah, here in France our trains have random 2h delays in the spirit of the french-german friendship

That was the station I used to take to work on my commute. Nostalgia hit hard.

Deutsche Bahn: "That's not possible!"
English trains: "No, it's necessary."

As an American traveling through Europe over the last 6 weeks, I'm beyond impressed with every rail system I've used. From the UK, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Germany, Netherlands and Belgium. We have NOTHING even close to this in the US. Obviously haha. So, although there have been late trains, I'm still so impressed. I love that I can easily figure out the public transport everywhere I go pretty easily. Except a day trip to Bitburg (just to visit because it's where I was born) when I rented a car, I've only used public transport in Europe and rarely ever used an uber or taxi because it's just so good. I freaking love Europe and dread going home to the US.

As a German who is currently stuck on a train with a one hour delay in the middle of the night, this makes me very happy

Meanwhile in Japan: Railway company makes public apology for a "truly inexcusable" early 25 seconds departure.

The trick to taking trains is to show up a little early so you can catch the train running late from the last time it was supposed to run

UK trains are mostly on time. Cancellations and weather delays are a bigger problem than habitual untimeliness.

The paradox of DB being so typical of the german experience and yet...so uncharacteristical for Germany bc of their tardiness, is one of the world's biggest irony.

As a British person, I can hear the train strikes tooting behind me.

I live in a Northern English town and the trains here are usually on time, except for when the weather is worse than usual. If it's snowed any kind of public transport will almost always be late or cancelled.
