Troy MAY have existed? Are you serious? Whoever researches this made a huge blunder. Not only did it exist, there are over nine cities buried one on top of the other, going back thousands of years, through fires, sieges, earthquakes and other disasters, always rising again. The Troy of Homer is by no means the oldest. This has been documented over and over, written about, and the artifacts of many incarnations of the ancient city are in multiple museums, the best one at the actual site.

Hades is the Greek deity and Pluto is the Roman deity. It wasn't so much a renaming as a language difference. Lately it seems that your research has gotten lazy.

The Mythbusters never tested the myth with concave mirrors. The Olympic flame is lit using sunlight and a concave mirror. The back side of a soldier's shield could have been polished and made to focus sunlight on a concentrated spot. With hundreds of beams focused, it would be possible.
