Grey Fox Video – Gray foxes are extraordinary animals! Learn about gray foxes.

Gray foxes are just as old as true type foxes.

They are believed to have been isolated on islands, which could be the reason they are so different from their fox cousins.

This video talks about the behaviors and habits of gray foxes. Gray foxes have round pupils. All other foxes have vertical pupils. While gray foxes are called tree foxes, other foxes also have partially retractable claws, and can to some degree, also climb trees.

For the last year or so, I've had a den of grey foxes living on my property. Their den is very close to my house. I see a grey fox almost every day. They usually appear in the late afternoon, and early evening. I love watching these guys!

Both Red and Grey foxes come to feed at my yard here in Maine and even with an Infrared camera, it is easy to tell the difference. The Greys I have only seen at night but the Reds do appear in the daytime as well.

Great job! Would be nice to see video clips of what you are specifically talking about during your presentation (grey foxes climbing trees, etc). Foxes interacting with other animals? Cats? Your on the right track😊

Such elusive animals. I've only ever seen two, one of them I saw on my way home from work tonight. When I saw it I thought "wow that's a long cat" and then it stopped and looked at me and as soon as I saw its face I could clearly tell that it was a fox.

Pretty nice video! It has good info and good explanations! May I give you a suggestion? You could make subtitles avaiable, for those hard of hearing or that have a hard time digesting info and such, it would be really helpful since youtube's subtitles are really bad.
I'm happily waiting for new videos! 😸

I just saw three at the same time walk into my yard from the woods across the street and go behind my house into the woods. I didn't even know we had gray foxes here (East Tennessee). I had seen red foxes, but never gray....very cool. They reminded me of the coatimundi we saw in Mexico.

I just ran into a mama fox with her kits. She made funny noises and the kits ran to her. I turned back so as not to bother them.

Awesome info. Ive been telling people to do there research because on facebook certain people seem to think that red foxes are similar to Grey foxes but we know that they arent. I shared this video onto my facebook page so people will see and understand the differences. Thanks for affirming my knowledge of the species I already know.; awesome video.

I had an entire den complete with adults and babies who had built a den underneath my travel trailer. . I Made it a point to be bear their den as possible with plenty of human activities without disturbing the den . So when they grew up, I fazed them out their ability to stay under my camper trailer were numbered . But I made the transition as easy as possible for them

We have a den of gray foxes living on our property. Two adults and 5 kits. I was wondering how to tell the difference in male vs female gray foxes….amount of red in the gray coat, the body size difference etc. Also do they mate for life and return to the same den location each year. This is the second year we’ve had a fox family living on our property and really enjoy watching the kits playing in the yard and on our porch. We do not feed them so they can learn their life skills naturally.
