Thank you for this. Indeed, 1688 was a monumental event in English history. Ironically Mary was James' daughter. Moreover, William was a hero across northern Europe, as he successfully resisted the might of Louis XIV. It is sad that his achievements are now only remembered in Northern Ireland, and connected with the troubles there. Protestantism, and England, for better or for worse, owes a lot to James.
