Who pays the home appraiser when someone is buying a home? The lender lends the money, but do they pay the appraiser? Here's the answer...

The lender will give the money to the buyer to put in escrow, but they won't pay for the home appraiser. They pass that off to the home buyer since the buyer is borrowing the money. The lender doesn't care how much money they give out (within reason, of course.)

The Buyer is the one who has to consider how much money they borrow, which is why the buyer is the one who pays for the home appraisal, which comes out of the money lent.
