it's amazing to hear the story behind that beautiful song 'He never sleeps..' I remember very vividly a time I was going through a very tough challenge that was the very songs that I was singing for days, it just kept coming to me and God came through for me. God never sleeps according to the Bible
and we can take that to mean no spiritual beings do.
It causes me to wonder why we humans sleep and dream.

Perhaps Job 33
has some of the answer
14 For God does speak—now one way, now another—
    though no one perceives it.
15 In a dream, in a vision of the night,
    when deep sleep falls on people
    as they slumber in their beds,
16 he may speak in their ears
    and terrify them with warnings,
17 to turn them from wrongdoing
    and keep them from pride,
18 to preserve them from the pit,
    their lives from perishing by the sword.

I can't find it right now
but I think there is other scripture
that shows us
God tests us in our dreams.
Perhaps this is to see how we would react
without the danger of letting the real thing happen to us.
