Prefer exterior design Mercedes, BMW looks like every other BMW only a BMW fan can tell the difference, where Mercedes looks more special.

The Mercedes seems all rolly polly round cornered comfy in its appointments. The BMW is all sharp edged jagged pointy. I prefer the Mercedes, although I'd immediately turn off the purple lighting.

The Superscreen looks great. Looks like they heard and solved glare issues with the gauge cluster display with the Hyperscreen.

I usually prefer Mercedes to BMW, but i5 is....too good :)

Design wise didn't like either EV in the beginning but they have grown on me now. I'll pick whichever has better comfort front and rear.

For me the E class looks better. Just a very smooth, cohesive design, although the Merc. three pointed star is referenced rather too much I think. The current 5 series model is a very handsome car, (and I nearly bought one recently) but this replacement looks awkward to me (particularly that upright front end) and it's just too big. The current car is already too big for UK roads, so this is going to make it even worse. My current 2018 E class never feels too big because it's not too wide (compared to the 5 series) and the turning circle is great. I think the new one is a little wider, but hopefully not too much. Just hope I can get on with the infotainment system! Looking forward to the on-the-road head-to-head.

Both fantastic. The two cars where every generation is a fantastic car in nearly every way. I always ask myself which of those two in every decade. I switch every 3-5 years so maybe both of them. I think this generation the Bimmer is slightly ahead....

These comparison videos are really fascinating. Somehow, the E class looks incredible and would be my choice. The EQE is a miss opportunity for me, def is the worst car of the bunch.

In going thru the build process for the i5, I didn't see an option to chose either the traditional opening moon roof and the larger one that doesn't open.

What happened to the backseat leg room for God sake? My old Skoda has far more leg room than both of these brand new models
