I loved that ending where she became an art therapist! Drawing has always been my way of expressing myself no matter my mood. I had a really hard time expressing myself because I suffered from severe anxieties, had a terrible stutter and autism which made it difficult for me to speak most of the time. After I got older and learned about this condition, I wonder if I also have a case of selective mutism as well as I would often lose my voice and struggle to speak whenever I got too emotional or nervous. Because of all this, I had a really hard time expressing myself. Art was one of the only ways I could properly communicate. It not only helped me express myself, but it also helped me to put my feelings down in ways that others could understand. And those feelings always shown perfectly in my art. People are always so awestruck when they see my work because every time I drew someone, whether they were a real person or someone from my imagination, I could always fill them with so much heart and emotion. People would literally feel the emotions I drew in my pictures from happiness to sorrow, anger to laughter. I could even capture complex emotions like someone feigning happiness but actually being really sad inside. It’s a skill of mine I’ve always been so proud of and makes me feel good inside because it means that people truly do feel things when they admire my work. As an artist, I believe that’s one of the best things you can achieve with any work of art! I wish I knew how I did it as I’d love to be able to share this talent of mine with others. Sadly, I just don’t know how I do it. It’s just one of those things I can do without thinking about it. But I still do my best to encourage others to draw and to do so from the heart. After all, as much as art comes from the imagination, it also comes from what you feel inside.
