I watched this movie with the girl I've always loved. We were 18 sitting in her home watching this movie and watching her cry and smile at the same time. That was when when I fell in love with this movie. This movie still connects us and there's something special about it. I don't know what she is doing now. But every time I hear this i think of her. Maybe this song will find us one day.

Went to the pier just to see the place they made this scene. For those who interested, it's the pier at Hermosa Beach, the lighthouse café is just sitting next to it. In the back of the bar there are some pictures on the wall show how they filmed the scene, and there is a drink called City of Star on the cocktail menu.

I'm in love. This movie is magic. Absolutely stunning and dazzling. Effortlessly one of the best movies of 2016. Those who've yet to catch it please do! I've just watched it today and I'm still enchanted.

When I hear this song I can't help but tear up and mourn a life/dream that hasn't even had to chance to blossom yet. I never thought I'd stop being so optimistic until I realized that as a first-generation student my reality has no space for dreams anymore. People always tell us that there's nothing stopping us from our dreams but they just don't get it. To dream is a privilege and even the privileged have to be lucky. I can only hope that in my sacrifice, my offspring or even my youngest sibling can be privileged enough to live their own lives the way they truly dream it to be.

Back in 2016, my then girlfriend and I were watching this movie in our basement, and at the time we were so young and life was all rosey and cute. We had love, and that’s all we needed. Little did we know Mia and Sebastian were the foreshadow of our future. La La Land was one of the last movies we ever watched. Now, living an ocean apart, I’m wondering if she still cherishes the good times, the rosey and cute life we once had, and if she ever found peace.
