You forgot 1. Don’t workout right in front of the dumbbell rack, preventing people from grabbing other dumbbells.

Yesterday at my gym there was the dude hogging the squat rack doing resistance band face pulls. Made me so angry I told my wife and she said "hes your son and hes 2, get over it." My dude was about to catch these hands.

Putting your weights away also helps with grip strength. We appreciate you Coach Greg

That's why I invested in a home gym over ten years ago. It's not much, just some bars, some plates, a rack, a bench and a bike. I even built myself a cable station, so I can do lat pulldowns and tricep pushdowns and stuff. I can workout any time for as long as I want to. I don't annoy anyone, no one annoys me. I can really recommend it. If you have the space, get yourself one.

I can’t wait to watch this one!!
Imagine you’re on a machine and coach jumps on the machine next to you!? I can hear him now “TRAIN HARDER THAN LAST TIME” 😂

I definitely agree with coach Greg. As a person who uses the public gym, I always encourage people to hop in with me if I get to a machine first. I’ve been there and done that so I know how it feels and don’t want anyone feeling the same way.

The worst are the people that do one set then sit on a piece of equipment for 20 minutes on their phone then do a set and get up, go for a long walk leaving all their stuff on it. I've watched them leave so long someone dares use the equipment and they show and and act like the person trying to get their work out in and leave is being rude.

Thank you fornthe post coach Greg! Gym etiquette is near non existent now a days. I'm a nobody so it's hard to get this message out there. Thanks again 😀

Thanks Greg that last one is so true I hate when people judge when you flex in the mirror in the gym my number one motivator is seeing my gains and see my improvement. Love the vid you have helped me more than any other fitness YouTuber 💪🏻

I remember back in 2008/09, when I first started lifting, there were none of these necessary “rules” mostly because hardly anyone, IF anyone, carried or used their phones in the gym. There were no selfies, no videos, common sense and politeness that came naturally to gym goers. Oh the good ol days.

Nothing more frustrating than having some guy alternating between 2 machines🙄 he puts his stuff on both machines

Good timed video. I just got a gym membership for the first time after always using my friends home workout equipment. I usually use common sense to be respectful to others in the gym but it’s good to hear the do’s and don’ts.

The most annoyed I've been in the gym was a week ago. I was looking forward to a heavy deadlift day, but the only platform was taken by a teenage girl. As I warmed up nearby with swings and dumbbell DLs, she did a rep or two every 6+ minutes going up maybe 5 pounds a time. I don't like people to feel rushed so I didn't ask how long she would be or try to work in, which would have been comical. I ended up doing my lifts on the open floor without the jack or the bumper plates trying not to make too big of a racket. I finished all my heavy work deadlifts, hip bridges, deficit RDL and she was still hogging the platform oblivious barely doing anything, essentially a rep or two every 10 minutes walking away between sets. It was busy and I was getting pissed. After 75 minutes I was done but, I told her to please finish as politely as I could. She seemed offended but did clear out after a lousy set. I ended up doing some cleans and pendalay rows so I could throw some weight around to work out the frustration. In retrospect I should have said something earlier, my mistake was to assume others are aware of others waiting for equipment.

I needed this video. I’m going to the gym for the first time in many years and these tips make me feel more comfortable about being there. I don’t want anyone to be annoyed with me so I’m glad I know how to act in the gym.

I love your videos. It’s funny to see you yelling at the camera and your wife is just in the background going about her normal day.

I’d also say training right in front of the dumbbell rack should be on this list! It breaks me when people stand so close to the rack you can’t get to the weights
