I have lived 8 years in Southeast Asia due to my husband work as a Maritime Engineer.
Like any country in the world, they make their lives with whatever is native in the area.
In the West we eat pears, they eat pineapple 🍍 lychee, watermelon 🍉 .
We eat Pheasant & grouse but for them “stinks”.

In the Cambodian markets they have cilinder like baskets filled with diferent insect each one:🐜🪲🕷🦗🐛🦂 as we have diferent kind of sea food
🦐🦞🦀🦑🐙🐟
In Peru they have all sort of different potato they have all sort of rice varieties.
Salted eggs are immerse in a backet with water and a kilo of salt. Leave them for 3 weeks.
That green eggs are covered with horse manure and left “cook” for 3/4 weeks.
