The stuff you see on tv is bunk. I’m not saying this is 100% real, but professional interrogators aren’t combative or threatening. They need to build calm and trust.

Remember, kids: no matter how much of an ASMR the nice detective gives you or how innocent you are, don't talk to them.

I loved the subtle ways of gathering intel. The small bits of conversation in between could totally be linked to eye witness testimonies, considering it's a jewelry store I'm guessing some stolen watches, security guard assaulted with martial arts maybe, and asking about security cameras since they were taken out too.

The sarcasm within this video was hilarious. Aside from the banter I thought this was well researched in terms of how an actual police interrogation goes. It was entertaining and I was also invested. Soothing too. Would’ve been cool if it was the Boston interrogator for a video like this. There’s just something about the accent that makes it “official” haha but don’t get me started on Teddy 😂 other than that I really liked this video!

Just started watching Suits. You can definitely pull off a Harvey Specter role play 🕴️

So CJ major guy here - wanna say this is a VERY well done interview. This is classified as an interview, because otherwise it'd be an interrogation if you're purposefully trying to scare the suspect into revealing something. Recent studies have revealed that interviews are more effective at retrieving information (especially accurate information) since interrogations often make the suspect lock up with panic (The 1/4 statistic he brings up are from DNA exonerations - false confessions are supposedly significantly higher and more are being found with each exoneration).

Interviews are very successful in retrieving information in slow, methodical ways. If you rewind the video and watch through this whole thing - you might notice he really only asks a few questions that are actually relevant. The relevant questions are asked in conspicuous ways which don't make it feel that important, are done because it's "required for the paperwork", or it's a "theoretical" situation. The majority of the time is spent on making the suspect comfortable by appearing relatable, kind, and that you're safe. In reality - you're being probed for information in small ways which you may not catch if you're not paying attention.

Offering a drink is actually really smart. Not only does it convey a sense of friendliness, but it also helps make the interrogated person need to pee which will 99% of the time make them look for the quickest way out of the room, which they believe is to confess.

I really hope there is a second part because this was so good. The casual conversation style was very effective. There were some really funny moments, gave me some great laughs. Your interrogation roleplays are awesome. The parking meter bit was great, that would totally be something I would be worrying about. 😂

it’d be so interesting if this became a series and then he plays the lawyer as well, but like a saul type lawyer

Studied Journalism. Our law professor told us that in the event that you are in the situation above, the police can NOT GIVE you anything that they promise. That is not their department, their job is to find someone to be responsible for a crime, nothing more.

Your talk about the Scandanavian alternative to "Johnson" is right on the money, because that's literally my middle name! I'm Norwegian, and my middle name translates to Johnson, but I have it spelled Jantzen. Pronounced the same, still means "John's Son, " just has a bit of an ethnic twist to it! A more normal way would be how you spelled it, maybe more like Jonsen or Jansen, but my parents decided to be quirky with mine! My late grandfather was Janper, which translates to John Peter, so I quite literally am Jan's Son! Such a delight to hear about this from someone else, reminds me of my rich heritage.

The casual conversation was interesting. I laughed so hard when you asked if we liked to wipe our butt with $80. Hopefully we see how this interrogation pans out.
