Have Scott strike eride, Bosch gen 4 motor fitted with speed box. Ridden approx 1700kms when accidentally turned off before speed box ran its off cycle. Got 504 message. Saw this suggestion and followed his process. But think it’s more likely based on riding 16km than 3/4 -1hr. But given the 504 “limp” mode limits assistance to around 16-17kmh it’s likely same thing unless you’re riding all down hill. Lol.

To clear the 504 fault I rode my bike in eco mode for 1 hour between 7 to 9 kph. Switched controller off for 30 seconds, turned back on & problem sorted.

Drill hack fixed mine, I put a drill on the crank and left it to run for over an hour at approx 11kmh, I had the motor on eco mode, switched it off then on again no error, I still have my VOLspeed V3 connected

Hi do you have to take the speedbox off and ride or just ride with it switched off just has the same problem on same bike cheers.

I definitely want to unlock my focus jam2. 25kmh limit feels weird, I don't want to go mega fast. Maybe 35/40kmh assisted.

I just fixed error 504 today, here is what I did:
-ride the bike on ECO mode with no more than 25km/h without the speednox active
-ride for 1.5 hours
-after the ride do not close the display (it will close itself after 5-10 min)
-after the display ia closed, open it and you will notice that no error is present

It works when you put the drill to the crank and run it for approximately 90min. It's such a releif that you don't have to deal with the dealer for the error.

Hello, it Haibike allttrail with Yamaha engine pw-st, after magnet hack, I drove it like 200km to the speeds of 50-55km/h, but in one moment in rhe ride motor cut of power (assistance), and went in some kind of limp mode. Walk in works, in HIGH mode it gives assist till 12-15km/h when I ride in highest gear...do you know whether it will work for Yamaha pw-st

Hi, My cube/ Bosch did this I rode it for 9 miles at about 11mph and it fixed it ...I havent put the dongle back in though !!

It won't "fix" itself. Motor keeps track of this event. If it happens 3 times you won't be able to get it working without the help from people with bosch software.

When u get error 504 you just have to keep riding your bike 16 more km and then turn off and turn on the motor and u good to go !!!

This error just came on my new bike, 300km in. FFS. I thought Bosch was reliable. I am in talks with the dealer to get this fixed ASAP. They need to provide feedback to Bosch. Im close to exercising customer rights in Australia and return this thing. I cant afford to have software cripple me anytime, what if im 50km's away from home with a load on the back of my cargo bike.

Frankly it's a joke that you pay God knows how much for your bike only for Bosch to fk you over!
Like after working a 14 hour shift, finding out that Bosch had rolled out an update that detected tampering, riding home at 4mph juddering everywhere. Thanks Bosch.

When you rode it for an hour to reset the 504 code what mode did you ride it in??
