Visited both BMW and Porsche dealerships, the experience itself shows who is superior and more exclusive. Spent 2 hours with a Porsche rep going over design and options, no pushy sales tactics at all. At BMW you'd be lucky to get 30 min with a rep unless you're buying. They push volume. Ended up getting the 2024 Cayenne S. It's easily more expensive than X5M with the added options but in my opinion totally worth it.

The Porsche brand is more prestigious but I think the X5 is the clear winner in a straight shootout. That Porsche allure though is a dream for many..really tough decision...head says BMW, heart say Porsche 🤔

The showroom experience with both Porsche and BMW was positive for me I do not think that sales tactics necessarily reflect automobile quality. Porsche costs are substantially higher for similar equipment than the comparable bmw offers. It appears that the Porsche brand allows them to charge more for similar features and performance. Bmw is much better value

I have owned different BMW's (X3 and X5) over the last 15 years. in March 2023 I made the mistake (yes the major mistake) of accepting an upgrade to a Porsche Cayenne 2023 (previous model coupe hybrid), instead of the BMW X3 that I used to request. Man I cannot remove that car from my mind. The comfort, the ride experience, overall the Cayenne is so much more, that it obviously worth the premium over the X5. And now with the bigger battery and the interior updates, I keep trying to maintain calm and not go directly to a Porsche dealer...

It is Skyscaper Grey 100%. I just got mine 2 weeks ago. You can't go wrong with this color. Its really amazing how in the sunlight looks different then during the evening

I have a 2021 Cayenne and love it, chose it over the BMW. However, things have changed a lot. It's not longer a comparison of the two. The Cayenne now not only starts $11, 000 more than the BMW but it's not mandatory that it comes equipped with $20, 000 worth of add-ons. So yes the Cayenne is superior but it comes at a premium.

Completely subjective, I know, but I have never been able to get into the Porsche’s styling. It looks fantastic and classic on their sports cars - it’s iconic. But on an SUV, it looks like a rounder VW.

The interior of Cayenne is significantly improved compared to previous gen and looks better than X5. But the X5 clearly has better exterior imo. I also like L6 better than V6. It's a tough choice.

The fact that we are comparing Bmw with Porsche already says a lot. Porsche is falling down, Bmw x5 is a king of SUVs

I have owned many X5’s and have been owning a Cayenne for a while now. The X5 is by far the better car. The Porsche is in the basis an Audi Q7, so an understeered vehicle with the engine to far to the front. You can’t drive it with the sunroof open like an X5, it makes a lot of noise. Rear windows do not open fully, like in the Bimmer. Really annoying. The X5 has a far lager boot, and the tail opens much more convenient. An I6 is preferable over a V6 engine, as is just sounds better. The multimedia system of Porsche is just shit, it doesn’t work often, and when it works is just 10 years behind. I do like the front seats and the fact that the rear seats are adjustable. Also the air suspension is very nice. It is much more comfortable, however it is much less sporty when you really push it. Even the front end of the Turbo GT cannot compete with the X5M. I just bought an XM over my Cayenne as I’m done with all the technical issues that cannot be fixed. Same with my ‘21 Targa, sold it for an M4 Convertible. The 911 Targa is also a shit car. It is not water tight. Lot’s of issues that can’t be fixed. Forget about Porsche, it is a nightmare.

BMW X-series interiors are horrid compared to Porsche. The screen looks like someone glued it on as an afterthought.

If you don't have minimum 170k+tax, don't attempt to buy a Porsche. It does not make sense to spend 100k for cayenne base with no features and slow as turtle.With that amount BMW x5 m50i offers far better comfort and speed.

Cayenne is a great car, but 100k, you will drive Toyota Highlander with Porsche look.
