Downloaded Oracle Database Express 11g. created my password and clicked on getting started from programs, username: system password (what ever you created on setup) once logged in click on  login to your Application Express workspace on right hand side. don't bother creating database since your following this tutorial guys. its so simple. Always wanted to learn SQL im glad I came across this site. enjoyed video will be watching second video soon. Thanks

Actually, varchar2 was made for memory conservation purposes. It is kind of elastic so if you specify that you need a big memory and you actually provide a value that needs  just a fraction of that memory, there would be an internal mechanism that would reduce the original memory allocation. So your heap won't go to waste.

Nicely done. I am trying to learn this on my own. Can I get Oracle on MAC computer or does it work only on Windows? Also Is there a Trial version, if No, what are the cost?

You need to use a virtual OS with 32 bit or install 32 bit. I suggest using Oracle's Virtualbox and downloading Windows 32 bit; mount it to a drive using daemon tools.

This was a instructor lead class not designed for youtube. Remember the audience and why. That is not the norm a minute per slide. I think a minute per slide is called "death by powerpoint". We are gaining the benefit and they are probably at terminal to learn SQL. Free for us..

At 0:27:00.I think it phoneInfo table didn't fully normalised. I think would be need add country prefix, and separate phone number on phone prefix and phone number.
