The killing is figurative, this song is about relationships. They are both people who enjoy using people and throwing them away. They find each other and partner up, he falls in love with her and she hurts him.

This whole song is nothin but metaphors and some pretty direct lyrics, I took it as two people who are enablers of each others vices, so if they stay together their self destructive interests will destroy them. The only way one of them will get out is if the other one dies.

If anyone’s still watching this and confused about the meaning, here’s my take.

The girl and the wolf are both bad people. They’ve probably both been hurt by people in the past that made them this way.

The wolf calls the girl “little girl” in the beginning because he’s used to being in power and getting women that way. He also tries to woo her with fancy dinner and money- “How about supper, just the two of us?” But she’s unaffected by this, because she’s just as bad as he is.

Upon meeting someone like him, the wolf falls in love. He tries to have sex with her- “Just a bite, and you’ll be consumed with delight.” But the girl is used to people only wanting her for her body, and responds with there’s more to love than just sex “there’s more to love than a meal.” I also think the killing is literal, and is a way to get her attention- she’s the type to lose interest and move on to the next guy in an instant so he keeps her interested the only way he knows how, by killing.

But while the wolf is falling in love, the girl is scared. “If I open wide, one of us may get lost inside, ” shows she’s afraid to be vulnerable and really love him, likely because of past relationships. I do believe she cares about him, but can’t bring herself to build a genuine relationship.

The two try to love each other, but just can’t get away from their vices. The girl says the only way to get out of the relationship is if one of them dies- and so she “kills” the wolf. Not literally, but she ends things and he’s so heartbroken he begins to have a downward spiral. This is shown by the drinking at the end. Since she broke his heart, he returns to the same self-harming tendencies he had before he met her.

And since she was the one to end things, she’s the real wolf. This is shown by her chasing him at the end, their shadows showing their true nature.

Another thing I noticed: the wolf’s voice gets more human-like throughout the video, as if he’s changing for her but she won’t change for him. In the end, he needed her more than she needed him.

Interesting that this as based off The Last Werewolf. I see the song as more an extended metaphor. The wolf is symbolic of love. Is love a beast that consumes everything? Or is it something that can protect you and be a guardian? And if you fall in love with someone who can't be redeemed, but love them anyway, will you be destroyed, too?
I think this can account for a lot of relationships where love isn't enough. Where the wolf is drug abuse, or alcoholism, or criminal time, etc. Any number of things. It's not enough just to love, you need other things or the relationship is doomed to fail. And you don't fall in love with an obvious, big, bad wolf.
I just saw a lot of takes in the comments that were way more literal.

I've read the book and know that the main character, the titular last werewolf, has this debate with himself when he meets the first female of his kind. Should he fall in love with her knowing he'll draw her into the savagery of their kind? Or should he resist because she's just an innocent woman? And does he have the moral right to create more like him that will suffer his same immortal existential and moral difficulties?

I took it to mean a werewolf falls in love with a girl, but he quickly comes to realize she likes killing more than he does and drives him to do so, even at the risk of himself.
