I’m thrilled to share the second release of my collaboration with the great classical guitarist Nadia Kossinskaja. Nadia, originally from Kyiv (Ukraine), now resides in Germany is an amazing classical guitar player and it was an honor to work with her.

In this video, we perform a duo rendition of her original composition "The Rain," a beautiful classical ballad. For this piece, I chose my Martin D35s guitar because its softer tone perfectly complements Nadia's nylon string sound.
We recorded this session at the GypsyGuitarAcademy studio, where I usually film lessons for my online classes and this video is the second release from that session.
I hope you enjoy how we’ve combined classical and gypsy swing styles in our interpretation of "Rain Day."

Now and then I write a note for friends and family, often about music.... I call it the Rulinews Service of Frivolities and Other Transcendental Matters.... Today's is dedicated to Joscho:

To relax in these turbulent times...

Joscho never ceases to amaze us, not only due to his skill, his precision, and his creativity of execution (just listen to those arpeggios and vibratos), but also for his ability to learn and adapt to one genre after another (from his beginnings in gypsy jazz to classic jazz, to smooth jazz, to rock and pop, and now in pieces like this, a classical-infused ballad) and to excel in each style... not to mention his ability to select musical partners... and all of this, wrapped in a personality that we don't know whether to call it modest or humble...

He reminds us a bit of Buffett, who, despite being a multimillionaire, when asked about the most important secret of his success, he continues to answer that it's hanging out with people better than him... it requires humility...

In this beautiful piece, he is accompanied by Nadia Kossinskaja, a distinguished Ukrainian guitarist who has performed in the best venues in dozens of countries. from Argentina to the USA, Japan, and Russia....

This piece is the kind of music I hope to find playing in the background in the reception hall of St. Peter's when it comes time to review my resume....:
