Steve Vai once said that Tommy Emmanuel is two of the best guitarists he's ever met.

If you listen carefully, between 0:00 and 5:11 is the best part.

My father passed of covid last year, and this was played at his funeral. My Dad taught me how to play guitar as a kid and for years we traded Tommy Emmanuel videos back and forth. I will cherish Tommy's version of this piece for the rest of my life.

This is the single greatest solo performance of music I have ever had the privilege of listening to live in London.

My daughter took me to see him in NYC tonight. I just got home. He was a guitar wizard.

I sat two feet away from Tommy at one of his guitar camps whilst he explained and demonstrated to us how to play these cascading harmonics. After about two days of trying I finally managed to get just one and it still sounded like a wet fish hitting the deck. And the rest of it? Not a chance. Not ever. He has enormous talent AND he knows how to apply and improve it. And to top it all, he is truly humble, approachable and helpful person. Absolutely the best. Ever.

Many Australians refer to Australia as "the Lucky Country". I reckon the talents of people like Tommy Emmanuel is one of the reason it is called that. Tommy thank you for the party my ears just had.
