For that, I'll be able to get a few armor pieces for one character and use them to level up my other characters and so on. Slow at first, but I think it's getting me there faster than if I just did one character at a time

Do the quest that leads up to doing the nightfall, you get a 300 attack shotgun, got me up to level 291

imo the blue gear u have equipped thats higher defence than the purple is purely for infusion... if u see all that kind of gear has only one stat.. so i thing u should prefer to equip purples, even though they might be lower in defence than some blue gear, then infuse them with the said blue gear..

PUT ALL OF YOUR ENGRAMS WHILE LEVELING UP IN VAULT AND THEN SWITCH TO YOUR HIGHER LIGHT GUY FOR BIGGER Leveled a Titan from 1-40 and picked up over 50 blue engram's and switched them to my 280 hunter!

also my warlock is rank 291 and I believe the only lengendary gear is my boots and class item. DO NOT WASTE YOUR LENGENDARY MARKS on buying gear or infusing. the loot will come just keep grinding.

i found that if u transfer your higher dmg weapon to your newly lvl 40, will increase the chance to get better gear for your other characters... I firstly get my main character to 290+, then I transfer the weapon and "little light" to my other character.. Bam! Its light went higher instead of less than 200... then when decoding engram Bam! we got higher defense compare with less than 200... I hope this helps.. ;)
