Yeah, I know it's an old post, but for those of you who don't get it, it is not about Keith's vocal ability, it's about honest raw emotion, a hallmark of the Rolling Stones from the very beginning. If you don't get that, and can't feel that in this number, you will never understand why so many people are blown away by this performance, and why so many people still follow Keith and the Stones even in their 70's. I really feel sorry for you guys who don't get it... This should be part of everyone's musical education. BTW, I love Ella and Louis's version too...

One of the many things I adore Keith Richards for, is that he makes me listen to and like music which otherwise would never make it onto my radar. Thanks Keith for making me love music since 1983, when I discovered the Stones. This track is wonderful.

I love it when Keith does his solo's at concerts, he is an example of unashamed disgracefulness that should be a lesson for us all. Long live the King!

My absolute favourite song. Keith’s voice is just so raw and real. Chills

I love Keith's guitar playing, every chord, every note is "strong" with tons of feel and personality...millions of great technical players around but very few achieve this kinda pathos...you just can't teach that

Aww, Keith, you don't fool me, you're a sweetheart of a guy and an old softie! I love it!

He puts so much heart n soul into it when he sings. He's no Louis Armstrong but he definitely has a very unique voice and imo it sure works for some of the old classics or stones ballads . I especially like when he sings stones rockers like little t & A, happy and before they make me run. His solo stuff is great too and the new barbarians with woody...love when he sings apartment #9. Legend

Everyone's complaining he's got a shitty voice and can't sing, but I like and appreciate that (unlike most of these shitty popstars that are pushed out by the industry) he's not lip syncing, it's a genuine performance, where he shows us what he's feeling in his heart. THAT to me is more important than judging a man who's given us quite a number of amazing songs over the years that is now at the age of 71, and saying "he can't sing"

of all of KR's songs and riffs (and I'm a hard rocker guitarist) this is my favorite song and performance of his and one of my favorite of all time any artist.

There is only one true rock & roller through and through, Keith is never out of character. Cool to the core, talent beyond worldly and the truest to this pure performance.

This is an old Hoagy Carmichael song from the late 30's. Keef has been doing it for many years. I think this is one of the tunes he & Ian Stewart recorded in Toronto when he was on trial in 1977. It was uncertain what would happen to him & the Stones & the night before he was to learn his fate he & Stu recorded a bunch of tracks, several of which Keef played piano on. I've seen it bootlegged as "the Toronto tapes". If you can find it it is worth a listen. Merci...gold rings on ya.
