Went to Nasville once for a day and did the tourist bus tour thing. This made me want to go back and experience the city itself. Thanks for sharing!

I grew up just outside of Nashville in Williamson County, and my dad was a lawyer who had an office on 2nd Avenue near the Courthouse. After 30 years in SoCal, it was long enough, and I convinced my lifelong Santa Monica resident husband that Tennessee was a much better quality of life. When we visited in July to hunt for a house, actually eventually a vacant lot to build a new house, I took my soul mate downtown to show him where I used to run up and down the old stairs where my dad's office was located. From there, I drove him to where I grew up in Berry's Chapel Heights off Hillsboro Road. I couldn't believe that it took a freakin' hour and 20 minutes to get from 2nd Avenue to Hillsboro Road and Berry's Chapel. When I was young, that drive took about 25 to 30 minutes.


We're moving to Leiper's Fork when our house is ready to move in, which according to our realtor will be December 15 to 20. I cannot wait to leave California in our rear view mirror. My salons have been sold in LA, and my last day running them will be December 7th. And, you are probably right on in pegging me; I will avoid downtown as much as possible and probably only go there when the Oklahoma City Dodgers come to Nashville or when we go to the symphony.

Hi Katie! Seriously, you should be a part of this city's Chamber of Commerce. You have single handedly placed Nashville on the top of my 'must visit' list. Seeing how much of an affinity you have for this city & all of its destinations makes me feel happy.
