I have a question. How many people out there would go through the trouble of saving their oyster shells, boil them and store them for future use when you cant find live oysters, and only have preshucked oysters in those little plastic containers in refrigerated aisle of your seafood department ?
I keep my shells for just that.
I pre-boil them to remove any leftover pieces of oysters, and residual debris, killing any bacteria.
I store them in a dry place for future use . Does anyone else do this ?
