This Overlooked part Could Be Wrecking Your MPG & Performance!

Is your vehicle running a little rough? Not getting the fuel economy or performance you used to? It might be time to check your PCV valve—a small, often overlooked part that can cause BIG problems if ignored. If your car has a V6/V8/V12, it has a PCV valve and it may need changing! Oil and gunk build up in the small valve and can degrade engine performance!!!

In this video, I show you how to replace the PCV valve on a 2005 Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor, walking you through the process in reverse order so you can clearly see how everything fits together. Whether you’re chasing better gas mileage, smoother idling, or just doing preventive maintenance, this quick DIY can make a noticeable difference.

The same process will apply to most vehicles! First, locate the PCV valve on the top of the valve cover and remove and inspect it. If it is not freely moving when you shake it, you either need to replace it or clean it. They can be cleaned using Throttle Body cleaner or MAF sensor cleaner. My preference is to replace them though.

Solid video man. Was looking at servicing this today for the LS. I’m like you, might as well replace. Hopeful that this, a spark plug swap (possibly packs), and MAF cleaning will give me some MPG back.

Subbed!
