Ingredients Matter

Have you read the ingredients lately on baby food? Especially baby formula?

Non-fat milk….corn syrup solids….vegetable oils….synthetic vitamins….

Then the snacks on the shelves for baby during the first year are filled with preservatives and other questionable ingredients…

What is going on in the food system?

Sadly, this doesn’t change as age increases. We become accustomed to the ultra-processed foods from a young age and this becomes the “norm.”

It is up to us to make it not the norm. It is up to us to reconnect with our food and teach about real food to children.

I wasn’t taught about real food. I was taught about the food pyramid and about eggs and red meat being bad. It wasn’t until years later, I discovered real health truths.

I now feel better than ever. I’m stronger, my mind is clear, and my energy is back 🙌🏻

Real food is the answer. Not the slop on the shelves.

Connect with local farmers. Farmers are even eager to share what they have going on and are taking to social media. It has never been easier to connect with farmers who CARE about their animals and can provide real, nutrient-dense foods.

Call your butchers, see what’s going on. See if there are any community-supported agriculture programs around you to source produce and other local products.

Change starts with YOU!

What do you think?

Fun fact! The FDA allows for a bottle of honey to contain up 74.9% corn syrup before you are required to list it as an ingredient on the bottle. Yes! The honey on the shelf that says it's just honey can be 75% corn syrup and they don't even have to tell you. Buy it raw from a bee keeper. Good raw honey should be VERY thick if its below 65°F and have a dark tint to it. If the honey on the shelf is light colored check it. Turn the bottle upside down. If the bubble goes all the way up in under 6 seconds then it's a bottle of corn syrup

It is because honey carries the bacteria clostridium and botulinum which can cause infant botulism. Their little bodies just can’t quite process bacteria the same. While it is rare I don’t think it is worth risking. All my babies are older now and enjoy honey very much as toddlers 💕

Honey causes botulism in infants. Recently my niece (around 5 months) was fed honey over a number of days and stopped peeing/pooing and wasn’t moving. It was the early signs of botulism. I like your videos but Sometimes your channel is just crazy.

I agree that the other things should definitely not be consumed by babies but honey is absolutely dangerous to babies. The bacteria in honey is something they cannot digest and can be fatal! Please do not feed your baby honey! Once they are one, go nuts with it but wait until 1!

Love this channel. I think it is great that you have been driven to live closer to nature and have natural food. I will say though that even if we are conspiracy theorists we need to be careful that we don't fall into the trap of "everything is now a conspiracy". Statistically speaking it's impossible that everything is. We can have an all or nothing mentality that makes us ignore even sound advice. There are many health benefits of honey, but it's not because they don't want infants to miss out on the nutrients of the honey, it's because there really are bacteria that could hurt them. Here's the fix though...breast feed your child and eat the honey. Mom's body will absorb the good and filter the bad and the baby will get the same benefits. 👍🏻

Ingredients are everything. I don't put anything in my body before reading the ingredients. That means I cook and eat at home. I make things from scratch. My body is God's temple. I do the best I can and pray over it all. 🙏🏼

Gurl... What's that reasoning 😂 just because other things are bad, botulism is good...?! You're cray cray

What about not giving babies honey and avoiding everything else that are harmful for adults too? It doesn't always have to be about chosing one thing or the other.

Hopefully none of those other things have botulism in them.

The other things you listed may not be great for anyone of any age, but your not going to see direct harm to a child by letting them ingest those things, however you can see a direct and very serious harm from giving your child honey when they develop botulism.

I have to disagree on this... I fed my little brother honey once when he was 6 months old... He squirmed at the flavor so much he fell down the stairs... We used to eat while sitting on the stairs.
